Residential LED Dimming Project on Shelley Street

Since the launch of our Dynamic Lighting Controller (DZ2G300TUNE), we have received various project inquiries regarding using aluminum alloy faceplates for residential dimming. Unlike previous projects, we provided customers with our aluminum alloy panels instead of just a back-end controller this time. This experience helps us understand what the designers and end customers have in minds.

Our dual-channel toggle switch faceplate (LCNC-TG01-2L_SV) provides a two-channel dimmer switch solution in a practical residential dimming project. Furthermore, the customer wanted to control the same light from different locations (Two-way Control). Moreover, some switches only serve as regular switches, not dimming-related. Some are even not lighting-related, but connect to the exhaust fan or a single-phase water heater. So, we encountered different types of controls in residential environments. From the communication, the designers and electricians were most concerned about if they could use our solution to achieve all these requirements!

Because our design is to separate the electronic control part from the panel so that only mechanical switches are involved, we can easily handle the requirements mentioned above one by one. As shown in the picture, customers can see on our two-channel aluminum alloy panel; that there are two kinds of levers on the plate. One lever is for LED dimming, and the other is for regular switching. In this way, we can use the same panel with different switches to meet various requirements while maintaining the consistency of the plate.
As for wiring, we recommend that an electrician use a network cable (CAT-5 cable) to connect the panel to our controller (hidden somewhere near an access panel). Since the connection only involves a low-voltage DC connection, Electricians can easily connect the cable to the controller's terminals. After that, the installation is completed and requires no software setting. Note that if we want to make the two-way control as described, the GNDs on different panels should be connected, or this function won't work as expected.
In this project, some lights are dimmable floor lamps (dimmable LED light bulbs inside). So we recommended Electricians connect the phase output of the controller to a particular AC outlet, which powers the floor lamps. Considering the need for regular room cleaning, Electricians should mark these outlet(s) properly and clearly explain to the user(s) that these outlets shall not be used for other purposes or will damage the controller. We also recommend Electricians make proper labeling for future maintenance. Please refer to other technical documents or content regarding this solution on the website for more details.
